These badges were originally issued from 1940 onwards, and were awarded to motorized Panzer troops.

This is the Bronze Class version, which was awarded to the following:

• Soldiers who had participated in 3 or more motorised infantry assaults, or counter attacks.
• Soldiers who had engaged in motorised hand-to-hand combat in an assault position.
• Soldiers who had participated in 3 or more armed motorised reconnaissance missions.
